Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective September 23, 2026
TAXREPUBLIC, Inc.
Scope and service agreements
This policy explains how TAXREPUBLIC, Inc. handles cancellations and refunds for professional services, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, consulting, business formation support, IRS assistance, and notarial services.
This policy applies when provided and accepted before purchase. Your signed engagement letter defines the services and fees and controls any conflicting service terms to the extent permitted by law. Later policy changes do not alter an existing agreement without your consent.
Canceling services and calculating refunds
You may cancel by emailing info@taxrepublic.com. Unless your signed agreement specifies a notice period, cancellation takes effect when we receive your notice. We will stop further work on the canceled services.
Before work begins, we will refund prepaid service fees, less any outside costs you authorized that we already paid and cannot recover. An advance payment is not automatically earned when received.
After work begins, you are responsible for work actually performed through the effective cancellation date at the agreed rates or completed milestones, plus authorized, nonrecoverable outside costs. We will provide an itemized calculation and refund the unused balance. For a partly completed fixed fee project, we will use the allocation agreed in your engagement letter or agree on a reasonable allocation reflecting the work performed.
Work begins when we perform authorized services, such as reviewing documents, researching an issue, preparing a return, processing bookkeeping, or providing a consultation. Properly completed services are generally nonrefundable, including preparation work completed before you choose not to file. The exceptions under Errors and service concerns and Your records and legal rights still apply.
Outside costs may include government filing fees and third party charges. We deduct only costs disclosed and authorized before payment. We will pass along any recovery attributable to your payment. If TAXREPUBLIC ends the engagement, we will notify you and return unearned prepaid fees.
Appointments and recurring services
Please give at least 24 hours of notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A late cancellation or missed appointment fee applies only if its amount and conditions were disclosed and accepted when booking and are permitted by law. If we cancel an appointment, you may reschedule or receive a refund for the unprovided appointment service.
Recurring services follow the cancellation notice terms in your signed agreement. If none are stated, cancellation takes effect when received. We will stop future recurring charges and account for work performed and unused prepayments through the effective cancellation date.
Tax outcomes and submitted documents
Our fees pay for professional services. We do not guarantee a particular refund amount, processing date, tax reduction, or agency decision. An IRS or state processing delay, refund offset, audit, or unfavorable decision alone does not entitle you to a refund of properly earned fees. This does not excuse errors or failure to deliver agreed services.
Canceling our services does not withdraw a return or document already submitted to an agency. Any additional work will be explained and quoted before you authorize it, subject to the correction terms below.
Errors and service concerns
Contact us promptly about a billing error, duplicate payment, preparation error, or service that was not delivered as agreed. We will review the records and explain our findings. Verified duplicate payments and overcharges will be refunded.
If we made an error in the agreed work, we will correct it without an additional professional fee. If correction is not possible or does not resolve a failure to provide the agreed service, we will determine an appropriate partial or full refund. Additional work caused by new or corrected client information will be quoted separately. These provisions do not limit any remedy required by law.
Requesting and receiving a refund
Email info@taxrepublic.com with your name, invoice number if available, payment date, service purchased, and reason for the request. You may call 972-272-8059 for assistance. Do not include Social Security numbers, full payment card details, or tax documents in ordinary email; use our secure portal for sensitive records.
We aim to provide a written decision within five business days after receiving the information needed for review. If more time is needed, we will explain the reason and expected response date.
Approved refunds will be initiated within ten business days, or sooner if required by law, through the original payment method whenever possible. If that method is unavailable, we will arrange an appropriate alternative with you. Your bank or payment provider may need additional time to post the funds.
Your records and legal rights
Upon request, we will promptly return client records needed to meet your tax obligations, consistent with applicable law and professional requirements. A fee dispute will not be used to withhold records we are required to provide.
Nothing in this policy limits a mandatory cancellation or refund right, a right to dispute a payment, or another remedy available under applicable law. You do not have to complete our internal review process before exercising those rights.
